A LITTLE PLANNING GOES A LONG WAY

When the numbers
aren’t neat.

Two doubles courts have eight places. With twelve friends, four sit out each round. Change the numbers to see the court-time trade-off before you organise a game.

8on court

4resting each round

The smallest equal-game cycle is 3 rounds: 2 games and 1 rest each.

Planning example: doubles, everyone available and courts filled. Equal games mean equal time only when rounds last equally long. Preferences, late arrivals and actual draws can change the result. This doesn’t create a session.

BEFORE YOUR FIRST GAME

A few useful things to know.

Can our regular Group have competitive and relaxed playing circles?

Yes. Split groups in a Group Mixer session lets players choose Group 1, Group 2 or Both. One circle might want a competitive challenge, while the other prefers learning or a relaxed hit. Group 1 and Group 2 players never share a court; Both players can join either. They still use the session’s format and scoring settings. See the worked explanation.

What does a free session include?

Add players and courts, choose a play mode, share a session code and record scores. Free sessions expire 24 hours after creation and have player, court and game limits. The setup screen shows the current limits. A paid Group adds a reusable roster and stored sessions.

Does PaddlePot book a court for me?

No. Arrange your court booking with the venue. PaddlePot helps organise the players and games once you know which courts you can use.

Who can change a free session?

Everyone with its code has the same management rights, including changing settings, scoring, ending or deleting it. Share the code with people you trust. Group sessions have their own permissions.

Will everyone get exactly equal court time?

That depends on the numbers, game lengths, availability and constraints. Equal game counts can still mean different minutes on court. For closer control over time, agree on equal-length rounds and review rests. The court-time guide explains the trade-offs.
